Wings oversee all the colour and pre-press production of RA magazine: the quarterly magazine for The Royal Academy of Arts. This includes all necessary scanning, image conversion, retouching, colour proofing and page make-up. Throughout the production process the images are available online via Wings digital asset management tool, allowing checking and download in real time, and providing a valuable ongoing archive of all the magazine’s editorial images.
To ensure each issue is delivered colour correct, Wing’s Nick Deschamps goes through all proofs with the editorial and design team: just as he has done since he first took charge of the magazine’s reproduction in 1985. This close working relationship is further exemplified by the RA team visiting the Wings studio on press day to make any last minute corrections before uploading the pages to Wyndeham Roche for printing.
