London Review of Books Exhibition

We assisted with the literary paper's exhibition for the late designer and art critic, Peter Campbell.

Peter Campbell was the resident designer and art critic for the London Review of Books. As a tribute to his work, Artwork has been published, featuring a collection of Peter's finest works over the years. To coincide with the book launch, the London Review of Books has organised two exhibitions displaying Peter’s magnificent work.

Every fortnight we produce the London Review of Books cover; the artworks are scanned, profiled and proofed to emulate the improved newsprint of the magazine, enabling an accurate colour match at the printers.

We recently produced 25 proofs to be included in the two exhibitions; for this specific display, the original digital files were re-profiled to match the watercolour paper background of the original watercolour paintings.

The main exhibition is in Nicholas Hawksmoor’s magnificent St George’s Church from 30 October until 9 November. This gem of a church was much admired by Peter and worth a visit just to admire its idiosyncratic spire, famously recognisable in Hogarth’s engraving entitled Gin Lane.

A further selection of paintings and drawings are on display at the excellent London Review Bookshop. It too is worth a detour, and just a stones throw from The British Museum.
